Before I even considered having kids, I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur. This year my company celebrates 18 years, the only women and minority-owned largest wellness company in central Texas, California, Colorado, Oklahoma, and more to come. I am proud to have accomplished this all while having four children, two active mini Aussies, and a supportive husband who also lends a hand in personal training from time to time.
My children are very much my drive and passion for helping others, improving lives, and becoming successful not only in business growth but successful in balancing motherhood and as a wife. The question I get asked the most is how do you do it all with so many kids(and might I say all four play sports and two select)?
You can have it all. Some areas may need to be sacrificed more than others but I have balanced my time and the importance of what matters, and my favorite is phone alarms to remind me what kid has a dress-up day, needs a supply for class, or needs a ride home from practice!
Do what works for you. A book, a friend, or a podcast can give you all the direction or advice but for me it’s the passion of loving what I do that has gotten me further. How bad do you want it? How much are you willing to put in? I don’t dream about what it takes but instead, take action. I see four little ones watching my hustle. They see a mother trying to outwork a male-dominated industry of fitness. I committed myself to excelling and paving a way that my children could admire. After 15 years, I truly feel like I am just beginning and got a head start. I’m excited to see the next 15.
